Cloud Engineer | Hybrid Cloud on Azure and AWS | Healthcare and Regulated Operations

Dallas–Fort Worth, TX

I build cloud platforms for regulated healthcare and enterprise teams: right-sized costs, tested recovery, and data that stays where regulators require.

Hybrid to Cloud

When a Texas winter storm takes a hospital site offline, lab quality control keeps running in the cloud.

  • Proxmox cluster built as code; every playbook re-run reports zero changes.
  • Secrets encrypted with SOPS and age; gitleaks blocks leaks before a commit lands.
  • A Terraform smoke test caught a real defect in the golden image.

Serverless patient onboardingIntake to order, one workflow

Problem
Manual identity checks, paper intake, and insurance verification slow lab test orders and create billing rework.
Solution and result
One serverless workflow verifies identity, reads documents, and checks eligibility before the order, with a STRIDE threat model and HIPAA safeguards mapping.

Enterprise DevOps Portfolio

Nine hands-on builds for hybrid and on-prem teams9 repos · Jenkins to EKS

Problem
Many healthcare and enterprise IT shops run Jenkins, Nexus, and self-managed Kubernetes, not only managed cloud services.
Solution and result
Nine working builds for teams that run their own tools: Jenkins CI/CD to Amazon EKS, Terraform-built EKS, a Helm chart from scratch, Kubernetes security, Ansible with CI linting, Nexus, hardened Docker and Linux, and Prometheus monitoring with alerting.

Deployment Evolution

Right-sizing a live platform~70% lower cost

Problem
A scheduling app on Kubernetes (EKS) cost $180–220 a month, far more than its workload needed.
Solution and result
Moved it to Terraform-built Graviton EC2 across two Availability Zones for $50–70 a month, about 70% less, with zero-downtime blue/green releases.

  • EC2 Graviton

PedalWorks

Refactoring a monolith to serverlessNo stored credentials

Problem
A Django and RDS e-commerce monolith ran on always-on servers, so every release risked the whole store, scaling meant scaling everything, and stored cloud keys were a breach risk.
Solution and result
Refactored into serverless microservices that scale and deploy independently, cost only per request, run with least-privilege access per service, and ship through CI/CD with no stored credentials.
